FOS have issued their half year complaints data on 24th October 2024, noting that complaints received have jumped by 40% year on year. 133, 019 complaints were received between 1 January and 30 June 2024, compared to 93,114 complaints in the same period in 2023. In the first six months, consumers lodged 101,031 banking and credit complaints. Over half were brought by professional representatives.
Banking and credit continues to be the most complained about sector. Complaints relating to pawnbroking remains low, and members are reminded that if you do receive a complaint and need support we recommend contacting the NPA, who will be able to provide our support.
