On a regular basis the ICO issue updates, on the 22nd November 2024, in line with the International Fraud Awareness Week, due to the increasing levels of reported fraud the ICO shared their views, which included responsible data sharing and collaboration. In practical terms the principles remain the same, with the additional advice of, “information sharing between private industry , and with the public sector, is a fundamental tool to reduce the harm from fraud”. The NPA has previously provided GDPR guidance, which included a Data Protection Impact Assessment document. It is recommended that members should review their responsibilities.
